About the role
[About the Role] Join a dynamic and innovative team as a Software Engineer in the Advanced Center for Experimentation and Simulation (ACES) program. Be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge training solutions that support command and battle staff training using live, virtual, and constructive simulation assets. [Responsibilities]
- Design, develop, test, and debug software to deliver logical and mathematical solutions for business and mission needs
- Lead and coordinate software development projects from planning through deployment
- Apply software engineering standards, processes, and tools throughout the full development life cycle
- Analyze user requirements, system capabilities, and programming techniques to resolve complex challenges
- Correct program errors, document program development, and prepare comprehensive operating instructions
- Integrate simulation assets, C2 systems, and DIS/HLA gateways for robust training solutions
- Ensure all software meets quality and security standards
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline
- 15 years of experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or Java
- Hands-on experience with Gitlab or similar CI/CD tools
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
[Preferred Skills]
- Experience rapidly learning and applying new tools or languages
- Background in integrating new technologies for process optimization
- Expertise in designing and developing GUI-based applications
- Familiarity with live, virtual, and constructive simulation environments
