About the Role

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for current and future vehicle management systems.

• Lead requirements generation, system/software design, integration, and flight testing activities.

• Collaborate within an Agile software team to deliver high-quality, reliable code.

• Integrate software with various host systems, including live assets, simulators, and lab environments.

• Support avionics services, including ground station and mission systems software development.

• Present technical concepts and results clearly to internal stakeholders.

• Adapt to evolving project needs in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

• Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5+ years recent experience with C (7+ years embedded C++ acceptable).

• Minimum 5+ years recent experience with Linux.

• Minimum 5+ years recent embedded systems software development experience.

• 3+ years experience with Git and Agile tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, etc.).

• 2-3 years experience with Python.

• Strong background in Systems Engineering practices.

• Demonstrated ability integrating hardware and software.

• Proven experience in an Agile development environment.

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

• Preferred Skills

• Experience with RTOS (Real Time Operating Systems).

• Familiarity with automated test methodologies.

• Knowledge of networking protocols (IP, UDP, RTP).

• Background in Vehicle Management System (VMS) architectures.

• Experience with safety/flight-critical software processes (MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, AC-17-01).

• Ability to foster effective collaboration and maintain strong professional relationships.
