Senior Fullstack Engineer (Onsite – Irvine, CA) 6-Month Contract | Apex Systems

About the Role

Join Apex Systems as a Senior Fullstack Engineer driving high-impact innovation in incident management tooling for a major engineering organization. You’ll create robust solutions that streamline incident response, automate workflows, and elevate operational efficiency for mission-critical teams. This is a hands-on, fast-paced environment where your expertise directly influences system reliability and team success.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver full-stack features for internal incident management tools

• Build and enhance backend services and APIs using Java-based frameworks

• Develop responsive, user-friendly features with Vue.js or similar modern frameworks

• Automate manual processes to minimize operational toil and boost team productivity

• Integrate and optimize alerting, escalation, and notification workflows

• Consolidate and improve user interfaces for seamless incident response

• Enhance observability with integrated monitoring, logging, and reporting features

• Drive end-to-end feature ownership from design through deployment and testing

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in agile ceremonies, and contribute to code reviews

• Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years in professional software development (SDE II level or higher)

• Strong backend expertise in Java

• Proven full-stack capability with modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js preferred)

• Experience building scalable APIs and distributed systems

• Demonstrated ability to deliver features end-to-end in dynamic, complex environments

• Must work onsite in Irvine, CA (5 days/week)

• Preferred Skills

• Internal tool or automation platform development

• Workflow automation and operational efficiency improvements

• Event-driven architectures and messaging systems

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments (AWS a plus)
