About the role
P&C Solution Architect (AWS, Guidewire) – Contract to Hire Location: Plano, TX / San Antonio, TX / Phoenix, AZ / Charlotte, NC (Onsite 4 days/week)
About the Role
Join a forward-thinking team as a P&C Solution Architect, driving innovation and resiliency within the Property & Casualty domain. This senior-level opportunity is ideal for technical leaders with a passion for full-stack architecture, cloud technologies, and modernizing insurance solutions. You’ll work hands-on and strategically, shaping resilient, scalable systems while mentoring engineering teams and influencing architectural direction.
Responsibilities

Lead comprehensive resiliency and availability reviews across applications, data, and infrastructure within the P&C domain.

Develop, document, and enforce repeatable, cloud-native reference architectures focused on high availability and system hardening.

Execute and uphold the Permit to Build (PTB) process, ensuring all components meet rigorous resiliency and availability standards.

Align P&C policy blueprints with industry best practices and architectural standards.

Identify and implement automation and AI-driven improvements for continuous system enhancement.

Mentor and guide developers and engineers on architecture and resiliency best practices.

Collaborate cross-functionally with business, product, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solution alignment.

Required Skills and Experience
-
3-5+ years of hands-on experience architecting solutions on AWS public cloud.

Deep domain expertise in Property & Casualty insurance systems, policies, and claims processes.

Proven track record in designing highly distributed, resilient, and scalable architectures.

Experience in applications engineering with a strong foundation in Java development.

Associate-level certification in Guidewire or practical experience with Guidewire Insurance Suite (domain model, policies).

Proficiency with OpenShift for supporting containerized microservices and implementing resiliency patterns.

Exceptional communication skills and demonstrated leadership or a strong desire to grow into a leadership position.

Preferred Skills

Advanced Guidewire certifications.

Experience automating resiliency testing and leveraging AI-driven insights.

Previous experience mentoring teams in large-scale modernization projects.
