Staffing - IT App Developer IV (MES Software Engineer) – Remote, Charlotte, NC

[About the Role] Join a high-impact team as an MES Software Engineer, shaping the future of digital manufacturing for a global leader. You will design, develop, and support Siemens Opcenter Execution (MES) solutions critical to manufacturing efficiency and reliability. Work remotely with occasional travel, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, innovative solutions that drive operational excellence.

[Responsibilities]

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain MES applications using .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and Web APIs
  • Configure Siemens Opcenter Execution to meet evolving business and manufacturing needs
  • Build and support integrations between MES, enterprise systems, and shop floor equipment
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, business, and IT teams to translate requirements into practical, high-quality technical solutions
  • Provide technical input for solution design and implementation strategies for MES initiatives
  • Drive system enhancements and integration efforts, identifying risks and recommending solutions
  • Implement and manage messaging technologies such as MSMQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar
  • Ensure data integrity and reliability across integrated platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues; deliver sustainable solutions
  • Test, validate, and document applications and system changes for performance and business readiness
  • Participate in project planning, technical estimates, and delivery schedules
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing; offer user support as needed
  • Join an on-call support rotation post-training

[Required Skills and Experience]

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years’ experience developing with .NET, C#, ASP.NET
  • Proven expertise building and supporting enterprise applications using RESTful APIs and integration patterns
  • Hands-on experience with messaging middleware (MSMQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals and SDLC
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps/Client, or similar source control tools
  • Solid understanding of Oracle or SQL Server relational databases
  • Background supporting 24/7 manufacturing, industrial, or operational systems
  • Demonstrated self-direction, technical ownership, and ability to manage complex projects
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

[Preferred Skills]

  • Siemens Opcenter Execution Designer/Portal (Camstar) experience
  • Familiarity with other MES platforms
  • Experience leading major system implementations, upgrades, or integrations
  • Knowledge of TDD, CI/CD, automated deployment practices
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Agile/Scrum team experience
  • Familiarity with modern developer productivity and AI-assisted coding tools
  • Track record of delivering business-aligned technical solutions
  • Adaptability in fast-paced manufacturing environments
