Software Engineer – AI SaaS Platform (Remote, Roanoke, VA)

About the Role

Join our dynamic engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer and play a key role in modernizing a scalable, customer-facing SaaS platform. Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust SaaS applications serving large volumes of data

• Define architecture and technical direction for next-generation platform initiatives

• Address challenging data modeling, scalability, and performance issues in complex systems

• Develop software using .NET, JavaScript (backend), and SQL, ensuring code quality and maintainability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions

• Integrate practical AI capabilities, including chatbots, robotics, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and best practice implementation

• Support the entire software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and ongoing support

• Required Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of commercial software engineering, including architecture and large codebase experience

• Deep expertise in SQL and data warehousing; proven ability solving complex data challenges

• Strong backend JavaScript development (3+ years)

• Proficiency in .NET development and building scalable SaaS platforms

• Experience delivering customer-facing SaaS, data, or AI solutions

• Solid understanding of cloud-based, scalable application architectures

• Preferred Skills

• Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks)

• AI development exposure: RAG, Langraph, Langchain, chatbot and robotics integration

• Full-stack .NET and Azure development experience

• Legacy application modernization and major platform rebuilds

• ServiceNow application development
