Akamai Automation Engineer
Location: Malvern, PA, Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC, or Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid: 3 days onsite)

Responsibilities

Operate, support, and maintain the Akamai platform, ensuring optimal performance of edge services.

Configure, manage, and enhance Akamai solutions, including routing, security controls, and edge properties.

Design and implement automation solutions using Python, Golang, Terraform, or similar tools.

Integrate Akamai with CI/CD pipelines, leveraging APIs and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Facilitate seamless onboarding of new applications to the Akamai platform, ensuring compliance with standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting application performance, availability, and security.

Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Drive continuous improvement of operational workflows and process enhancements.

Participate in pair development and knowledge sharing to foster team growth.

Required Skills and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
-
3–5+ years of experience in network engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.

Direct hands-on experience with CDN, edge, or application delivery platforms; Akamai exposure required.
-
Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Terraform, or similar).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Experience with API-based automation.

Preferred Skills
-
Experience with Akamai Property Manager, Edge DNS, WAF, DDoS, or Bot Management.

Knowledge of DNS and certificate lifecycle management.

Familiarity with policy-driven automation and validation checks.
-
Understanding of Agile delivery and enterprise change management.
