As a Database Manager at our company, your role will involve managing a team of professional DBAs and developers to ensure database integrity and scalability. You will be responsible for the following key tasks: - Managing a team of professionals to design and develop database systems. - Providing guidance to the database team on database structures and features. - Designing and preparing reports for management. - Creating standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance of existing database architecture. - Troubleshooting complex database issues accurately and in a timely manner. - Maintaining database disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability and speedy recovery. - Supervising installation, migration, and upgrade of databases. - Ensuring that the database is developed according to business requirements. - Preparing reports on database scalability and capacity planning as needed. - Identifying and resolving database issues related to performance and capacity. - Overseeing day-to-day activities of the database team. - Developing best practices for performance and operational efficiency. - Ensuring database management and maintenance tasks are performed effectively. - Conducting training programs for staff on database development and maintenance procedures. - Performing regular audits to ensure data integrity and quality. Qualifications required for this role include: - Strong analytical and organizational skills. - Eye for detail and accuracy. - Ability to understand business needs. - Strong leadership skills. - Understanding of structured query language (SQL). - Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), object-oriented database management systems (OODBMS), and XML database management systems. - Experience with database software/web applications. - Familiarity with No-SQL concepts. - Up-to-date knowledge of technology.
