As a VoIP Architect / Unified Communications Architect, your role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade Voice over IP (VoIP) and Unified Communications (UC) solutions. Your responsibility is to ensure secure, scalable, high-availability voice and collaboration services that are aligned with business and network architecture standards. Key Responsibilities: - Design end-to-end VoIP and Unified Communications architectures, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid environment - Define call flows, dial plans, SIP trunking, and numbering strategies to enhance communication efficiency - Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery measures for voice platforms - Create technical standards, reference architectures, and detailed design documentation for future reference Implementation & Integration: - Lead VoIP deployments and migrations, transitioning from TDM to IP, or legacy PBX to UC platforms - Integrate VoIP with enterprise systems such as Active Directory, CRM, contact center platforms, and Session Border Controllers (SBCs) - Collaborate with network teams to meet QoS, bandwidth, and latency requirements for optimal performance - Support integration with various collaboration tools like Teams, Zoom, and Webex for seamless communication Platforms & Technologies: - Architect and support UC solutions from vendors like Cisco CUCM / Webex Calling, Microsoft Teams Phone, Avaya, Genesys, or Zoom Phone - Design and manage protocols like SIP, RTP, SRTP, along with Session Border Controllers, voice gateways, and IP phones - Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in the VoIP and UC domain to ensure cutting-edge solutions Leadership & Collaboration: - Act as a technical authority for VoIP and UC initiatives within the organization - Mentor engineers, providing architectural guidance and support for their professional development - Collaborate with vendors, ISPs, and telecom providers to drive successful project outcomes - Participate in RFPs, vendor evaluations, and cost optimization initiatives to maximize the value of technology investments (Note: No additional details about the company were provided in the job description.)
