Working with the offshore product development, to develop software in accordance with specified requirements.Key TasksTo develop software in accordance with technical specifications, coding standards and interface guidelines and within the time-scales specified by the Development Team LeaderTo be a part of the Java product development and assist in the design, development, defect fixing and technical implementation of the softwareTo help and guide other team membersTo create reference documentation on new areas of developmentTo provide estimates for work as requiredTo be responsible for unit testing To ensure release of components into the Build processes by following the correct guidelinesTo understand industry terminology and functionalityTo analyse and provide solutions to issues that arise during the development cycleTo focus on tasks those need to be completed, to take a thorough approach, and to ensure that developments are fit for purpose. To support demo systems for prospective customers/clientsAble to identify and evaluate Java related new technologies for POC / R&DAble to work on the web services/integration skills for SELECT with external systemsEssential AttributesA minimum of 4 years of development experience with at least 2 years experience using JAVA (1.5) technologyShould be very strong in OOPS concepts and various design patternsMinimum 2 years of experience on J2EE JSP, ServletsJPA (EJB 3.0) Should have worked on Eclipse based IDEs like AST, WSAD or RADXMLSQLGood knowledge of Unit Testing processesA commitment to quality and a thorough approach to workGood communication skillsDesirable AttributesKnowledge/experience of working in Insurance domain is a plusExperience in JavaScript, XSLT, XPath and EXTJS will be an added advantageExperience with SVNExperience with WAS and Apache/IBM HTTP serverExperience with DB2SCJP, SCWCD certifications will be a plus
