Product Owner - EMR / HIS Location: Indore / Pune (preferably Indore) At a Glance This role focuses on bridging the gap between clinical workflows and technical execution within the healthcare landscape. As the Product Owner, you will leverage 8+ years of experience in EMR implementation and product management to drive innovation, manage the development backlog, and ensure solutions meet complex healthcare regulatory standards. Overall Purpose of the Job The Product Owner for HIS will be responsible for analyzing regional needs and identifying best-fit EMR solutions for clinical environments. You will translate user and client needs into actionable user stories, ensuring the development team enhances the EMR/HIS in-line with industry best practices. This role serves as a strategic lead for product innovation, suggesting creative ideas to optimize the application roadmap while ensuring data security and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities - Product Vision & Innovation: Act as the Product Owner for EMR/HIS; provide strategic recommendations on improvement areas and cutting-edge requirements to define the application roadmap. - Backlog Management: Develop and own the product backlog, leading refinement sessions to document business and functional requirements as user stories for the technical team. - Implementation Oversight: Provide expert oversight and recommendations to the implementation team during EMR/HIS roll-outs for new and existing sites. - Clinical Workflow Alignment: Design and review clinical needs to align with business goals, working closely with technical and architecture teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions. - Interoperability Leadership: Leverage expertise in healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR) to facilitate integration with PACS, RIS, LIS, ERP, or HIE systems. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a functional solution provider, collaborating with internal teams to optimize user experience and translate technical complexities into clear business language. - Quality Assurance: Review and manage defects during the project life cycle and work closely with application teams on enhancements and fixes. - Documentation & Training: Create comprehensive functional documentation, release notes, and user training materials. Job Profile Required Skills and Knowledge - EMR Expertise: Vast experience with HIS/EMR applications and a strong understanding of clinical processes and workflows. - Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare industry regulations (including ABDM/NDHM in India), standards, and best practices. - Data Standards: Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as ICD 9/10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, and SNOMED-CT. - Analytical Prowess: Strong problem-solving skills with experience in data analytics and reporting within a healthcare context. Required Competencies - Ownership & Drive: High sense of ownership, urgency, and self-motivation. - Business Acumen: Ability to convert complex clinical requirements into functional solutions. - Communication: Refined interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with global stakeholders. - Data Privacy/Inosec governance : In-depth knowledge of HIPAA and GDPR Compliance in Healthcare Industry related to EMR. - Technical expertise: Basic knowledge of SQL/Database, Data reporting tools, database recovery management ( RPO and RTO) Good to have Skills - Technical Integration: Experience integrating HIS with sub-systems (LIS/RIS/PACS) and working knowledge of HL7 (v2, v3) or FHIR. Required Work Experience - Years of Experience: Minimum of 810 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years specifically in HIS/EMR Product Management or Implementation. - HIS Implementation: Proven experience working with health information systems and leading EMR implementations. - Agile Methodology: Strong experience in Agile environments, specifically utilizing JIRA and Confluence for backlog management. - Systems Analysis: Demonstrated experience in process and system analysis across business, functional, and system levels. Required Qualifications & Certifications - Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or an engineering discipline. - Product Owner Certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) is highly preferred. - Additional Certifications: Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management (PMP) or Health Informatics are highly desirable. .
