As an experienced Mainframe DB2 DBA with a focus on Q Replication and Performance Tuning, you will bring the following essential skills to the table: - 8+ years of experience: You have a solid background in Mainframe DB2 DBA, Q Replication, and Performance Tuning. - Expertise in Mainframe DB2 data replication suites: You possess strong experience in working with Mainframe DB2 data replication suites. - Automation/scripting skills: Your strong background in automation and scripting will be essential for streamlining processes. - Experience with large scale SysPlex environments: Hands-on experience with large scale SysPlex and data-sharing environments is a key requirement. - Diagnostic tools proficiency: Your deep knowledge of diagnostic tools, problem determination, and technical troubleshooting will be crucial for identifying and resolving issues effectively. - Analytical and problem-solving skills: You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills across system and application domains. Additionally, the following qualifications would be considered an added advantage: - Experience with Db2 LUW, Db2 client - Exposure to IDAA, IDAA Bulk Loader, and CDC Replication - Good knowledge of software configuration management systems - Strong business acumen and cross-industry thought leadership - Awareness of the latest technologies and industry trends - Logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaboration abilities - Industry domain knowledge - Understanding of financial processes and pricing models - Client interfacing skills - Knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies - Project and team management skills In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Analyzing and optimizing Mainframe DB2 performance, including batch processes and code refactoring. - Implementing and supporting Q Replication and other data integration solutions. - Tuning DDF workloads and managing overall DDF system behavior. - Maintaining and optimizing Accelerated (IDAA) tables. - Automating repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency. - Executing modernization strategies for mainframe data systems. - Performing performance data collection, analysis, and tuning for DB2 systems. - Evaluating and implementing new features offered by DB2 versions for performance, cost optimization, and operational benefits. You will also be responsible for: - Providing 24x7 on-call support for Mainframe infrastructure. - Developing and maintaining runbooks, best practices, and operational documentation. - Implementing tools and processes required for a highly stable environment. - Ensuring operational resilience and performing thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA). - Establishing and maintaining database policies for DR, security, maintenance, and audit compliance. - Supporting incident and problem management related to DB2 and application failures. Moreover, in a collaborative and leadership capacity, you will: - Work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and SMEs to drive technical excellence, support internal initiatives, and strategic transformation projects. - Lead tasks with a proactive "can do" attitude. - Strengthen team capabilities through continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
