Network Engineer- Knowledge in Linux (Kolkata)

Role Overview We are looking for an L2 Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in network, Linux, and security operations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of firewalls, network monitoring systems, and web application security, along with exposure to virtualization and Active Directory environments. Key Responsibilities Provide L2 support for network and security-related incidents and service requests Configure and troubleshoot Firewalls, NMS, Network devices, and WAF Support virtualized environments in clustered setups Assist in managing and troubleshooting Active Directory-related issues Work closely with L1, L3, and other infrastructure teams for issue resolution Ensure adherence to security and operational best practices Technical Skills & Tools Skill / Domain Details / Tools Firewall Management Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point Network Monitoring (NMS) PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar WAF Configuration ModSecurity, Imperva, AWS WAF Linux Administration RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu CLI proficient Virtualization VMware vSphere / ESXi clustered setups Active Directory User/group management, GPO, DNS/DHCP Network Protocols TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPN Security Practices SIEM, log analysis, incident response Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience) 36 years in a network/security support role at L2 or equivalent Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and security appliances Strong Linux command-line proficiency Experience supporting VMware or similar virtualization platforms Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and OSI model Familiarity with ITIL-based incident and change management processes Good documentation and communication skills Nice to Have Relevant certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Security+, NSE4, CEH, or RHCSA Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, IBM QRadar, etc.) Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) Scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation Knowledge of ZTNA or SD-WAN architectures Job Type: Full-time Compensation: 400,000.00 - 600,000.00 per year Perks: - Cell phone reimbursement - Health insurance - Provident Fund Work Location: In person Role Overview We are looking for an L2 Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in network, Linux, and security operations.
