Position Overview: We re looking for a skilled and creative WordPress Developer to lead the development and optimization of high-performance, responsive websites. This role combines frontend finesse with backend strength , requiring experience in both custom theme and plugin development as well as a strong grasp of content strategy, user experience, and website performance. You will work closely with our design, marketing, and content teams to transform creative briefs and wireframes into functional, SEO-optimized, and mobile-first digital experiences that meet business objectives and align with best practices. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient backend solutions using WordPress Create visually engaging and responsive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript , and modern frameworks Collaborate with UIUX designers to turn design concepts into interactive, user-friendly websites Code and test cross-device compatible websites, ensuring consistency across browsers and platforms Optimize website performance in line with Google PageSpeed, Core Web Vitals , and SEO standards Develop and extend WordPress functionality via custom themes, plugins, shortcodes, or REST API integrations Oversee server-side configurations and CMS technical health for speed and stability Maintain WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates with proper version control Troubleshoot theme, plugin, and hosting issues, delivering fast, reliable solutions Provide CMS training and documentation to internal teams or clients for routine management Stay updated with the latest WordPress updates, security practices, and emerging development trends Document code, reusable components, and project methodologies for consistency and scalability Required Skills Experience Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience Minimum 5 years of hands-on WordPress development experience (custom themes, plugins, CMS architecture) Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript , with experience in custom backend functionality Strong frontend development skills: HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, responsive design principles Experience with SEO optimization, schema markup, and accessibility compliance Familiarity with version control systems like GitGitHub Experience working with a variety of WordPress plugins and third-party integrations Ability to manage multiple web development projects simultaneously Exposure to ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and agile development environments is a plus Personal Attributes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and in a team Fast learner, adaptable, and self-driven with a passion for delivering high-quality digital experiences Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment Good to Have: Experience with headless WordPress or decoupled CMS architectures Knowledge of JAMstack, static site generators (like Gatsby or Hugo) Familiarity with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue.js) for frontend enhancements Exposure to marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Zoho) Understanding of DevOps basics including CICD pipelines and deployment tools Prior work with multilingual or multi-site WordPress setups Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean) Contributions to the WordPress community (themes, plugins, support forums) Understanding of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Hotjar) Sounds Like You: You re someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and code.
