About the role
Role Overview: As a Senior Member Technical Staff (SMTS) Silicon Design Engineer at AMD, your main focus will be on planning, implementing, and executing the physical design and verification of processing subsystems IP to ensure they meet the signoff criteria for tapeout. You will play a crucial role in accelerating next-generation computing experiences by contributing to the design of products for data centers, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming, and embedded systems. Your passion for modern, complex processor architecture and digital design will drive innovation to solve some of the world's most pressing challenges. Collaboration and effective communication with engineers across different locations and time zones are essential in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, implement, and execute physical design and verification of processing subsystems IP - Ensure the design meets the signoff criteria for tapeout - Collaborate with engineers from various locations and time zones - Contribute to the development of products for data centers, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming, and embedded systems - Drive innovation in modern, complex processor architecture and digital design - Utilize scripting languages like TCL and Python for implementation - Provide leadership and mentorship to team members Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering - Over 12 years of experience in the relevant domain - Experience with block-level and top-level physical implementation - Proficiency in lower node technologies - Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as TCL and Python - Ability to provide leadership or mentorship is an asset About the Company: At AMD and its subsidiaries, we are committed to transforming lives with our innovative technology and products.
