As a Staff Software Engineer L5 at the company, you will be responsible for working with all service aspects of high throughput and multi-tenant services. You will have the ability to design components carefully, properly handle errors, and write clean and well-factored code with good tests and maintainability. Key Responsibilities: - Work as part of a global cross-functional team to build and operate innovative services platforms for Inovalon applications - Serve as a technical authority for complex projects and cross-team initiatives - Own end-to-end architecture for large systems or multiple services, setting technical direction - Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines - Lead design reviews and provide strategic input on system scalability and performance - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and partner teams to define project requirements - Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions to drive services optimization, cost, and security - Write high-quality distributed system software - Mentor junior engineers and provide code reviews to ensure quality - Shape technical direction for the organization, drive innovation, and ensure scalability - Apply Agile development principles to continuously deliver value and readily adapt to evolving requirements - Maintain code integrity and organization, ensuring the highest level of performance for both front-end and back-end code - Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on engineering excellence, execution, and propagate build for scale mindset Qualifications Required: - Minimum 8-12 years in software development with demonstrated leadership in complex projects, leading design or architecture design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new or existing services/systems - 8-12 years in data engineering or related roles - Advanced proficiency in Snowflake data modeling, performance tuning, security, strong SQL skills for complex queries and optimization, and experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline orchestration - Optimize queries and data structures for high performance and scalability and implement best practices for data partitioning, clustering, and caching - Integrate Snowflake with various data sources and BI tools - Define data strategy, ensure data integrity and performance across multiple systems - Knowledge of Azure Data Services, Python, or Spark - Familiarity with data warehousing best practices - Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines - Proficient in Java and Angular, AWS services, and performance tuning techniques - design performance strategy for large-scale systems, mentor others on performance best practices - Proven track record of leading technical teams and influencing architectural decisions, leading multiple teams or initiatives, driving technical vision, and influencing org-level decisions - Partners with senior leadership, product strategy, and cross-functional teams to align technical roadmap This job entails sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time) and may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force. The work environment is subject to inside environmental conditions, and travel for this position will include less than 10% locally, usually for training purposes.
