Role & responsibilities The key responsibilities of the Civil & Maritime Engineer shall include: Prepare various chapters for the feasibility studies, Concept Reports, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and Detailed Engineering Designs for port and marine infrastructure projects. Plan, analyse, and design marine structures including jetties, berths, wharves, quay walls, dolphins, trestles, approach bridges, breakwaters, revetments, seawalls, slipways, shipyards, waterfront structures, and other associated marine facilities. Carry out engineering calculations, prepare design reports, structural analysis models, detailed drawings, technical specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in accordance with relevant Indian and international codes and standards. Undertake planning and design of port infrastructure, including terminal layouts, cargo handling facilities, utility corridors, internal roads, drainage systems, and associated civil infrastructure. Prepare specifications for outsourcing of geotechnical, bathymetric, topographical, metocean, hydrodynamic, navigational, and environmental investigations required for project planning and design and coordinate with the outsourced agencies for timely receipt of comprehensive reports. Perform design coordination with multidisciplinary teams comprising structural, geotechnical, coastal, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and environmental. Review survey reports, investigation data, and consultant/vendor submissions to ensure technical adequacy and compliance with project requirements. Prepare engineering calculations, design basis reports, technical notes, construction methodologies, design criteria, and technical specifications for marine works. Participate in technical discussions, client meetings, design review workshops, and presentations, and address client comments in a timely manner. Coordinate with drafting/BIM teams for preparation and review of General Arrangement (GA) drawings, detailed construction drawings, and 3D models. Ensure compliance with applicable national and international design codes, statutory regulations, port authority guidelines, and quality management procedures. Provide engineering support during construction, including review of contractor submittals, responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), site inspections, technical clarifications, and resolution of design-related issues. Stay updated with the latest developments in port planning, coastal engineering, marine construction techniques, sustainability practices, and international engineering standards applicable to marine infrastructure projects. Preferred candidate profile Work Experience: Over 3-8 years of hands-on experience in planning, design, and engineering consultancy for Port and Marine Infrastructure Projects. The candidate should have proven experience in preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), feasibility studies, and detailed engineering design of marine structures. At least 2 years experience in performing the design and engineering tasks for major ports, non-major ports, shipyards, jetties, terminals, waterfront developments, or coastal infrastructure projects will be essential. Basic Qualification :Bachelors degree in civil engineering from a recognized university as a regular full-time student. Master's Degree / Specialization in Structural, Coastal, Harbour, Ocean, or Port Engineering shall be preferred
