About the role
Role & responsibilities As the Workday Benefits consultant, you will typically focus on configuring and optimizing the advantages module within Workday. This role will serve as the functional owner/ architect and subject matter expert (SME) for benefits, providing strategic oversight, technical leadership, and operational support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to design scalable solutions that improve efficiency, enhance employee experience, and support business growth. This includes driving system improvements, automating processes, testing and operational support. Own the Workday benefits module, overseeing: Benefits Configuration and Implementation: Configure and maintain benefits plans (health, dental, vision, retirement, etc.) within Workday based on the requirements. Configure eligibility rules, open enrolment processes, and life event changes (marriage, birth, etc.). Ensure employees can easily make benefits selections and manage their choices through Workday. Open Enrolment Management: Set up and manage open enrolment periods, workflows, and configurations. Provide guidance to employees during open enrolment, ensuring they can make informed decisions about their benefits. Vendor Management: Work closely with perks vendors and insurance carriers to ensure smooth data integration and resolve any issues related to benefits administration. Partner with business stakeholders to develop a Workday benefits module optimization roadmap (Front door requests / Project intakes and Backlog management) by understanding pain points, prioritize requirements and opportunities to improve process efficiency and scalability. Leverage mastery level knowledge to lead efforts (hands on) to deliver complex initiatives/ projects/ module enhancements identified in the Workday advantages optimization roadmap. Release management: Manage module specific sprint planning and deliverables. Manage half yearly Workday release enhancements (R1 and R2) Manage/ Triage .
