About the role
As a Senior Performance Engineer I at Insurity, you will be an integral part of our global engineering organization. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze, optimize, and validate the performance, scalability, and reliability of our software platforms. Here's what you can expect in this role: Role Overview: - Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests across distributed systems and applications. - Identify system bottlenecks using profiling tools and monitoring solutions; recommend and validate optimizations. - Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and product teams to embed performance considerations throughout the development lifecycle. - Analyze system behavior under various workloads and produce detailed performance reports and dashboards. - Implement and maintain automated performance testing frameworks and pipelines. - Evaluate application performance against KPIs and SLAs; propose architecture or code changes to meet targets. - Support root-cause analysis of production performance incidents and provide insights for long-term improvements. - Establish performance baselines and develop repeatable methodologies for continuous performance validation. Key Responsibilities: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - 3-5 years of experience in performance engineering, performance testing, or systems optimization roles. - Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, Locust, or k6. - Strong experience with profiling and monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus). - Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP). - Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Java, C#, Go, Bash). - Deep knowledge of performance concepts such as latency, throughput, concurrency, caching, asynchronous processing, GC tuning, and system-level resource management. Qualifications Required: - Experience designing performance test strategies for high-scale enterprise or cloud-native applications. - Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps). - Experience with database performance tuning (SQL and NoSQL). - Knowledge of virtualization/container orchestration internals. - Experience with chaos engineering or resilience testing.
