About the role
As a Junior Java Backend Developer at Integers.Ai, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend applications using Java. You will have the opportunity to work on RESTful APIs, microservices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Your willingness to learn and adopt modern software development methodologies will be key to your success in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining backend applications using Java. - Support the development and integration of RESTful APIs and microservices. - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following coding standards and best practices. - Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and senior team members to deliver high-quality solutions. - Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues. - Work with relational databases for data storage, retrieval, and optimization. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities. - Learn and adopt modern software development methodologies and tools. - Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Strong understanding of Core Java concepts, including OOP principles, Collections, Exception Handling, and Multithreading basics. - Basic knowledge of Spring Boot and REST API development through academic projects, internships, or self-learning. - Familiarity with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL. - Understanding of version control tools such as Git. - Exposure to Maven or Gradle is preferred. - Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. Good to Have: - Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodology. - Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus. - Familiarity with Docker or containerization concepts is preferred. - Exposure to AI/ML concepts through coursework, internships, certifications, or personal projects. - Familiarity with Generative AI tools and APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, or similar LLM-based services is a plus. - Basic understanding of concepts such as prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is desirable. - Experience building or experimenting with AI-powered applications, chatbots, or intelligent assistants will be an advantage. - Willingness to learn and work with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and developer tools.
