The candidate will be involved in full-lifecycle design and development of web-based applications using Java, JavaScript, Apache, SQL, XML, HTML, and MYSQL. The programmer/developer will translate user requirements into an application and/or database design, write interfaces to companion applications or databases, and provide support to applications in an O&M status. Responsibilities will include evaluation of methods and technologies for data processing, developing, designing, and implementing effective data models, applying information processing theory, and incorporating external libraries to build and deliver functionality. The candidate will oversee the ongoing maintenance of web applications, databases, web servers, web security and connectivity. The successful candidate is expected to write necessary code with straightforward logic, ensure interoperability with other applications, and generate comprehensive test plans.. Additional work will be in researching software tools and creating custom solutions to solve complex problems. The candidate will be an active participant on Agile scrum teams. Qualifications: Mandatory Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related degree program or experience that would provide equivalent knowledge and minimum of four (4) years of software development experience. Experience or familiarity with Java to include JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3, Object Oriented analysis, design and programming, Model-View-Control (MVC) architecture such as Spring MVC, and Object/Relational Mapping frameworks such as Hibernate Experience or familiarity with software systems applications, design, development, and interconnectivity Experience with front-end and back-end development to include Java web servers such as Apache Tomcat Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex web-based tools and applications Experience translating system requirements into end-to-end design for applications Experience with version control tools such as SVN, Git or GitHub Desired Skills: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related degree program or experience that would provide equivalent knowledge Experience working in a multi-tasking environment and planning work tasks Experience exhibiting written communications skills to include technical documentation Experience with SQL (Oracle SQL, MySQL) and relational database design/development Experience with AWS Experience with Agile development methods
