About the role
About the internship We are developing software for a robot-based metal 3D printing system. The robot arm (KUKA) is responsible for executing precise deposition paths generated by our CAD/CAM platform. Before any of this runs on real hardware, it must be built, tested, and validated in simulation. This role focuses on building and extending that simulation layer the foundation on which the real hardware integration will eventually be built. This is an early-stage, research-oriented role. You will explore, build, and solve problems rather than execute a fully defined specification. Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Develop ROS-based simulations for a 6-axis robot arm. 2. Build and validate 5-axis motion simulations and toolpaths. 3. Integrate simulation workflows for KUKA robot arm compatibility. 4. Generate and test robot motion paths from slicing outputs. 5. Explore robot kinematics relevant to additive manufacturing workflows. 6. Contribute to the broader CAD/CAM platform and its related components.
