Your Role: As a Database Administrator II, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of our database systems. You'll monitor performance, protect against threats, manage backups, and provide support for various database issues. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor system performance and identify problems - Protect the database against unauthorized access - Ensure adequate database backup and recovery - Report on database usage and performance metrics - Suggest improvements for database maintenance and protection - Liaise with IT project managers and database programmers - Manage day-to-day operational support of database environments - Perform query analysis and performance tuning - Monitor and report on project status - Configure monitoring utilities for databases - Manage business intelligence objects and create reports using SSRS - Provide on-call assistance for urgent database matters - Work effectively in a rapid-paced environment with multiple databases Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience/certification - Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Database administration - 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server in a corporate environment - Proficient knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL data types, table definitions, stored procedures, SQL queries, SSIS, and SSRS - Strong command of T-SQL and experience with database management tools - Proficient knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards - Skilled in database technologies (TSQL, SSIS, DTS, SSRS) - Familiarity with HA/DR technologies (clustering and replication) - Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions - Eagerness to learn new technologies .
