Job Description (General Summary)
As part of the continued growth strategy, the push for better products, and improved customer experience, Intralox Shanghai Ltd. is looking for an additional Mechanical Engineer to join their Global Equipment Engineering group. In this role, the engineer will focus on creating customer-specific equipment designs while being part of a global technology-focused team.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Job Responsibilities: • Design conveyance solutions through standard parameterized design software, according to application specifications, customer requirements, and within operational timelines. • Take ownership of projects through all stages—design, functional requirements, validation, and manufacturability • Design & validate non-standard solutions on the standard equipment as per request, with great e quipment safety & risk assessments • Support equipment installation & start-up and assist with troubleshooting field issues, sometimes at a customer site. • Accurately responding to presales/post sales engineering support requests • Identify, prioritize and drive continuous improvement opportunities through an understanding of manufacturing process, cost estimating, sourcing, etc. • Develop and conduct training for others as per need • Work on orders for other regions if needed • Develops knowledge, becoming a subject matter expert (SME) within the engineering department with respect to design fundamentals and product.
Your Profile: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years related experience • Native Mandarin and good English language skills • Strong mechanical aptitude with a “hands-on” approach to engineering • Conveyor systems experience a plus • 3D Modeling experience utilizing Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks solid modeling software • Familiar with PLM system, such as Windchill. • Computer proficiency in programing software essential to job performance • Good interpersonal skills, ability to interface with customers/suppliers • Travel as required for project. Some work occurs on holidays and weekends when required • Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. • Solid foundational understanding of mechanical engineering design formulas and analytical abilities. • Self-managed with a strong sense of ownership • Base knowledge of controls a plus (PLC’s, ladder logic, photo eyes, encoders, communication networks)
