JOB DESCRIPTION AutoCAD Plant 3D Customization Developer Job Title AutoCAD Plant 3D Customization Developer Department Engineering / Design Automation Location Pune, Maharashtra, India Employment Type Full-Time Experience Required 3 5 Years 1. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Plant 3D Customization Developer to join our design automation team. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing customized solutions and automation tools within the AutoCAD Plant 3D environment using .NET (C#) or Python. Key focus areas include automation of P&ID creation, piping support modelling, frontal piping generation, and other plant design workflows, with the objective of improving engineering productivity, accuracy, and standardization. 2. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain automation tools within AutoCAD Plant 3D for P&ID creation, piping support modelling and placement, frontal piping, and related design workflows. Customize Plant 3D specs, catalogs, symbols, and report templates, and manipulate project data programmatically as per project requirements. Integrate Plant 3D with other engineering tools, AI-based systems, and internal applications where required. Collaborate with piping engineers and designers to translate workflow requirements into technical solutions. Test, debug, and document developed applications; provide technical support and training to design teams. 3. Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Computer Science / IT) or equivalent. 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD Plant 3D customization using .NET (C# / VB.NET) or Python. Working knowledge of the AutoCAD .NET API and Plant 3D API (PnP3dObjectsMgd, PnIdObjectsMgd, etc.). Good understanding of the Plant 3D project structure and database schema (SQLite / SQL Server). Familiarity with P&ID and piping design concepts, workflows, and deliverables. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 4. Preferred / Desirable Skills Knowledge of AI technologies and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers in the context of CAD/Plant 3D — including hands-on experience with MCP servers for Autodesk products such as Fusion — will be a strong added advantage. Experience with AutoCAD ObjectARX (C++) development. Exposure to isometric and orthographic drawing automation in Plant 3D. Knowledge of piping engineering standards (ASME, DIN, etc.) and pipe support types. Experience with Autodesk Vault, Navisworks, or other Autodesk ecosystem tools; familiarity with Git. Experience working in the EPC / plant engineering domain. 5.
