About the role
Role Overview : We are looking for a highly skilled Java Lead Backend Developer to design, develop, and scale high-performance backend systems and microservices. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, distributed systems, cloud-native development, and backend architecture, along with the ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to build scalable and reliable applications that support business growth. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices. - Lead the architecture and development of high-performance, distributed systems. - Develop secure and efficient RESTful APIs and backend services. - Drive technical design discussions and code reviews. - Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features. - Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices. - Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions. - Participate in system design, estimation, and sprint planning activities. - Ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, and software development processes. Required Skills : - Strong experience in Java (Java 8/11/17 or above). - Expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture. - Strong understanding of REST APIs and distributed systems. Experience with : - Spring Framework - Spring Cloud - Hibernate / JPA - Maven / Gradle Hands-on experience with relational databases such as : - PostgreSQL - MySQL - Oracle - Knowledge of caching technologies like Redis. Familiarity with messaging systems such as : - Kafka - RabbitMQ - Strong understanding of design patterns and object-oriented programming principles. - Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines. Preferred Skills : - Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Docker and Kubernetes. - Monitoring and logging tools. - Experience building highly scalable SaaS or product platforms. - Exposure to event-driven architectures.
