Job description :- Senior Embedded Engineer (Hardware + Firmware) Experience: 7-12 Years Department: R&D; / New Product Development (NPD) Key Responsibilities:- Embedded Hardware Development - Design and develop embedded electronic hardware for new products. - Work on schematic design, component selection, BOM optimization, and hardware architecture. - Coordinate PCB layout activities and review PCB designs for signal integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal, and manufacturability considerations. - Develop analog and digital circuits involving: - Microcontrollers / MPUs - Power supplies - Communication interfaces - Sensor interfaces - Audio/video interfaces (if applicable) - Perform hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and reliability testing. - Support certification activities such as EMI/EMC, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance. Embedded Firmware Development - Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller and embedded Linux-based systems. - Develop drivers, middleware, communication stacks, and application firmware. - Work on RTOS/Linux-based embedded systems. - Implement and debug protocols such as: - UART - SPI - I2C - CAN - USB - Ethernet - Modbus - MQTT - BLE/Wi-Fi - Optimize firmware performance, memory utilization, and power consumption. - Conduct debugging using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers. New Product Development (NPD) - Participate in complete product development lifecycle from requirement analysis to mass production. - Prepare technical specifications, design documents, test procedures, and release documentation. - Coordinate with manufacturing teams for prototype builds, pilot production, and product sustenance. - Support design verification, validation, and field issue resolution. - Participate in technology evaluation and feasibility studies for new products. IoT & Connectivity (Preferred) - Develop or integrate IoT-enabled solutions involving cloud connectivity and remote monitoring. - Work with wireless technologies such as: - Wi-Fi - BLE - Zigbee - LoRa - Cellular/NB-IoT - Experience with IoT protocols, edge devices, gateways, and cloud integration will be an added advantage. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills - Solid understanding of embedded system architecture. - Hands-on experience in both hardware and firmware development. - Good knowledge of: - Analog and digital electronics - PCB design concepts - Power electronics basics - Embedded C/C++ - RTOS - Embedded Linux - Experience with ARM Cortex-based controllers/processors. - Familiarity with debugging and testing tools. - Understanding of DFM, DFT, reliability, and industrial design considerations. Preferred Skills - Experience in IoT product development. - Exposure to industrial communication protocols. - Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts for embedded/IoT devices. - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or similar. - Exposure to audio/video systems, surveillance, fire alarm, industrial automation, or transportation systems will be advantageous. Educational Qualification - B.Tech / BE in: - Electronics & Communication - Electrical Engineering - Instrumentation - Embedded Systems - Or related disciplines (M.Tech preferred but not mandatory) Experience - 7-12 years of relevant experience in embedded product development. - Proven experience in handling end-to-end NPD projects. - Experience in industrial, IoT, automation, safety, surveillance, or transportation products preferred.
