About the role
Location: India Company: Jaipur Robotics AG Focus: Linux Edge Systems Fleet Management OTA Reliability Industrial IoT About the Role Jaipur Robotics builds industrial Computer Vision and AI systems deployed across Waste-to-Energy plants in Europe. Our systems run on Linux edge computers connected to cameras, LiDAR, and industrial equipment, often inside restricted IT/OT networks. We are looking for a Senior Edge Systems Engineer to own the software infrastructure running across our fleet of edge computers. Your responsibility is not to develop ML models. Your job is to ensure that the services running those models and sensor pipelines are deployed, updated, monitored, recovered, and operated reliably across many customer sites . You will own the layer between our application software and the physical edge hardware. What You Will Own Design the architecture for running multiple services and processes on Linux / Ubuntu edge computers. Design and own our OTA software update infrastructure across a distributed fleet. Implement staged deployments, version pinning, health checks, and automatic rollback. Build centralized fleet visibility for device health, software versions, service status, logs, and resource utilization. Implement watchdogs and automatic recovery for failed or unresponsive services. Manage configuration differences across customer sites without creating deployment-specific codebases. Design remote diagnostics and debugging workflows for devices deployed across Europe. Operate in restricted IT/OT environments with outbound-only connectivity, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and intermittent network access. Work with engineering teams building camera, LiDAR, CV, and real-time data-processing services. Improve CI/CD pipelines from GitHub repositories to production edge devices. What We're Looking For Non-negotiable: Strong Linux/Ubuntu systems engineering. Strong programming fundamentals. Hands-on experience operating production software on edge devices, Linux systems, industrial computers, and/or PLCs. Experience managing long-running processes and services. Strong debugging skills across application, OS, networking, and hardware boundaries. Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of production systems. Strongly preferred: Fleet management and OTA platforms such as Mender, Balena, AWS IoT Device Management, Azure IoT, or equivalent internally built systems. Docker and containerized edge deployments. systemd and Linux service management. CI/CD and automated release pipelines. Remote monitoring, centralized logging, metrics, and alerting. Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, WireGuard/Tailscale, firewalls, NAT, and restricted networks. Experience with camera or video pipelines such as RTSP, GStreamer, or ONVIF. Familiarity with computer vision or ML inference workloads. Experience supporting systems that operate unattended for weeks or months. Nice to have: Experience with industrial IT/OT environments. Experience with ROS/ROS2, NATS, MQTT, Kafka, or other messaging systems. Exposure to GCP or other cloud infrastructure. Experience with NVIDIA or GPU-enabled Linux edge computers. .
