About the role
Role Overview: As a Graphics Engineer Application Engineer Controls at Johnson Controls, your primary responsibility will be to execute Building Management System global projects by performing detailed engineering as per country-specific standards. You will be tasked with programming DDC and supervisory controllers, replicating each part of the sequence into control logic for the controller. Additionally, you will need to understand graphics requirements, design graphics templates, and symbol libraries as per regional needs. Your role will involve independent task execution throughout the project lifecycle, handling first-level escalations, following processes to maintain quality standards, ensuring on-time deliveries, and guaranteeing customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: - Review MEP drawings to identify HVAC equipment, dampers, and sensors - Review control specifications and sequence of operations - Generate initial review sheets and RFIs - Create a Bill of Material, select sensors, control valves, dampers, air flow stations, controllers, etc. - Select control devices and prepare controller wiring, terminations, interlock wiring accordingly - Prepare an I/O Summary - Prepare BMS network architecture - Understand control logic required to program the controller from the provided sequence - Program controllers and interlocks effectively - Prepare test plans, perform simulations, and troubleshoot errors - Handle programming at the supervisory level and deliver projects to customers - Review control specifications and sequence of operations for graphics requirements - Design graphics templates and symbol libraries as per regional needs - Ensure quality assurance and defect-free hardware, software, and graphics delivery - Adhere to all necessary processes and guidelines to execute the project within the timeline Qualifications Required: - BE/ME in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication - Strong knowledge of BMS architecture, Supervisory Controllers, DDC controllers, Sensors & Actuators, etc. - Strong understanding of Niagara architecture, Platform, and controllers - Experience in software programming and commissioning of Niagara controllers - Proficiency in Niagara Analytics - Experience in the Industrial Automation field (PLC programming/SCADA) will be advantageous - Knowledge of HVAC systems like Chilled Water System, Cooling Towers, Primary & Secondary pumping systems, Hot Water System, types of AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems, etc. - Familiarity with different network protocols like BACNet, LON, Modbus, OPC, and other protocols - Proficient in wiring of starters, field devices, safety interlocks & panels - Basic knowledge of AutoCAD - Experience in the field of Industrial Automation (SCADA/HMI screens development) will be an added advantage - Experience in remote engineering, installation, and commissioning of HVAC & BMS systems - Previous work on BMS projects in sectors like pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings, hospitals, etc. - Quick learner with excellent problem-solving capabilities - Proficient in written and verbal communication - Preferred experience in Building Automation System or BMS Design Engineering (Note: The additional details of the company were not explicitly mentioned in the provided job description.)
