Software Engineer II - Test Automation in Payments

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Payments Tech Team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firms state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system. Your role involves leading a test team, planning against an End-to-End test strategy, identifying testing automation opportunities, and managing expectations of stakeholders and teams supporting E2E test execution. You will also document and execute test scenarios, partner closely with Operations, Product, and Technology groups, and take responsibility for monitoring and reporting of Testing defects. Key Responsibilities: - Lead a test team with daily supervision, allocation of duties, timely issue resolution, and regular communication with reporting manager. - Plan an End-to-End test strategy, including test data, environments, defect management, and test automation. - Identify testing automation opportunities and test synergies within the Project. - Document and execute test scenarios, write test scripts using Business Driven Development. - Partner closely with Operations, Product, and Technology groups. - Manage expectations of stakeholders and teams supporting E2E test execution. - Validate and present Test Results for internal Sign-off. - Escalate daily issues to the Program Test Manager and manage expectations regarding testing and project timeline. Qualifications Required: - Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience. - Expertise in troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining Python Code, experienced in using Java, Selenium, or a similar tool. - Functional knowledge of Payments domain and experienced in testing processes. - Utilization of test automation tools for efficient and timely E2E test execution. - Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear updates to team members, colleagues, senior leads, executives, and clients. - Ability to keep sight of the overall context, identify areas of opportunity for process improvement, and use effective systemic data-driven reporting to support program reporting. - Ability to liaise effectively between lines of business to achieve common and strategic goals as a team. The job also requires experience in using Business Driven Development / Test Driven Development test methodology, identifying opportunities to accelerate and synergize testing processes, relevant testing experience within the Financial Services industry, advanced numeracy and Microsoft skills, expertise in Agile project delivery methodology, and the ability to work with the minimum of supervision on day-to-day activities.
