CAD Designer

Role Overview: As a team assistant, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the development and delivery of design deliverables for substation projects. You will interpret drawings and designs, liaise with Project Managers/lead design engineers, and produce and amend drawings using CAD. Your role will involve creating and maintaining project management documentation to appropriate standards, providing feedback in internal meetings, offering general backup to the Projects Department, and keeping drawing files and a custom project tracker program up to date. Additionally, you will attend occasional site visits. Key Responsibilities: - Interpret drawings & designs - Liaise with Project Managers/lead design engineers on amended drawings - Produce and amend drawings using CAD - Create and maintain project management documentation - Provide feedback in internal meetings - Offer general backup to the Projects Department - Keep drawing files and a custom project tracker program up to date - Attend occasional site visits Qualifications Required: - Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential - Experience with other CAD and 3D modeling software such as Revit is essential - Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines - Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for design - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal - Professional, reliable, and willing to learn Company Details: The company specializes in HVAC substation primary and secondary design and HVDC Offshore Windfarm projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform work in accordance with the agreed budget and schedule with little supervision. You will independently perform tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works to standard and compliant regulations. Additionally, you will coordinate across project disciplines, external subcontractors, and remote offices to identify and mitigate technical risks and ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
