Team Lead - Cutting Tools Application

Job role and Purpose: Lead and manage all cutting tool requirements for machining operations, including tool planning, trials, vendor development, tool life optimization, and technical support. Responsible for monitoring and establishing tool life through wear analysis, coordinating tool regrinding and reuse activities, maintaining tooling documentation, and driving effective troubleshooting of cutting tool-related issues to ensure productivity, quality, and cost efficiency Collaborate with Process engineering teams to optimize tooling selection for specific applications. Lead the end-to-end selection of cutting tools for Turning, Milling, Turn-Mill applications to support NPD, production, and machining trials. Select and optimize cutting geometries, tool materials, coatings, and grades based on workpiece materials, machining conditions, and application requirements. Develop and implement tooling strategies to achieve Cost Per Component (CPC) targets, reduce tooling cost, reduce cycle times, and enhance machiningproductivity. Introduce next-generation cutting tools, advanced grades, and innovative machining technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness.
