Position title: DC Cloud & NetBackup Supervisor Position status: Local Position reports to:IT DC Manager Department: IT Rotation pattern: 14/14 Job purpose The Datacenter, Cloud & NetBackup Supervisor is responsible for supervising, administering, supporting, and optimizing data center infrastructure, private and hybrid cloud services, systems platforms, virtualization, enterprise storage, Veritas NetBackup, replication, and disaster recovery services. The role ensures that data center, cloud, systems, and backup services remain secure, available, scalable, recoverable, and compliant with business continuity requirements, while leading operational improvements, technical documentation, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. Duties and responsibilities Supervise daily data center operations, including servers, racks, power and UPS coordination, cooling, hardware health, asset lifecycle, monitoring, and infrastructure availability. Administer and support Huawei Cloud Stack services, ManageOne, FusionCompute, resource pools, tenants or projects, compute, storage, virtual networking, identity and access, and platform health. Manage VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, clusters, templates, high availability, DRS, lifecycle updates, and virtual machine provisioning or decommissioning. Administer Windows Server and Linux systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, patching, hardening, file services, and integration with monitoring and service management platforms. Manage Veritas NetBackup operations, including master and media servers, clients or agents, policies, schedules, storage units, retention, catalog protection, backup job monitoring, and failure resolution. Administer enterprise storage platforms, SAN or NAS connectivity, datastores, multipathing, allocation, performance, capacity planning, and integration with virtualization and backup services. Lead backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery activities; conduct scheduled recovery tests against approved RPO and RTO targets and maintain evidence of successful recoverability. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure incidents, analyze logs and alerts, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate corrective actions, manage changes, and maintain complete technical documentation and SOPs. Qualifications, Training & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline. At least one current professional certification in data center, cloud, virtualization, systems, storage, or enterprise backup technologies is required. Veritas NetBackup certification or equivalent enterprise backup and recovery certification is strongly preferred. Huawei HCIA-Cloud Computing or HCIP-Cloud Computing, together with Huawei Cloud Stack training, is strongly preferred. VMware Certified Professional - VCF Administrator or VVF Administrator is strongly preferred. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) is preferred for systems and hybrid cloud responsibilities. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking certification is preferred. ITIL Foundation (current version) is preferred. Strong knowledge of data center operations, virtualization, storage, NetBackup, DR, Windows and Linux systems, networking, security, and scripting. Strong professional communication, analytical troubleshooting, technical leadership, architecture documentation, and reporting skills. Ability to supervise engineers and technicians, prioritize operational work, support critical incidents, and coordinate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders. Experience 7-10 years of professional experience in data center, cloud, virtualization, systems, enterprise backup, or infrastructure operations roles, including hands-on administration and support responsibilities. Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience with Huawei Cloud Stack, VMware, Windows or Linux systems, enterprise storage, Veritas NetBackup, replication, restore, and disaster recovery operations; supervisory or lead experience is preferred. Language proficiency, computer and software skills Core platforms and tools: Huawei Cloud Stack, ManageOne, FusionCompute, VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, VCF or VVF Veritas NetBackup, Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, SAN/NAS storage, replication, and DR tools PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, monitoring tools, ITSM platforms, backup reporting, capacity and performance dashboards English - upper intermediate or above (verbal and written) Skills Strong supervisory capability across data center, cloud, systems, virtualization, storage, and backup services, with strong availability, recoverability, and security awareness. Ability to manage incidents, problems, changes, risks, capacity, lifecycle activities, and service improvement actions within agreed service levels. Advanced troubleshooting and recovery mindset, with practical experience in backup validation, restore testing, platform health checks, and operational risk reduction. Strong organization, documentation, reporting, vendor coordination, and readiness to support critical incidents, migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery activities.
