About the role
Role & responsibilities 1. Design and develop ballastless track systems, including slab track, embedded rail, and floating track bed solutions. 2. Perform structural analysis for track components, including rail fastening systems, sleepers, and substructure elements. 3. Lead BLT track slab design and ensure compliance with international railway standards (AREMA, UIC, Indian Railways, EN 13670, etc.). 4. Develop BLT derailment wall designs to enhance railway safety and mitigate risks. 5. Conduct RSI (Rail-Structure Interaction) analysis to assess track performance under dynamic and static loading conditions. 6. Design and optimize reinforced concrete (RCC) column track structures for metro and high-speed rail applications. 7. Ensure proper integration of track design with geotechnical, structural, and environmental requirements. 8. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for BLT implementation. 9. Evaluate track stiffness, thermal expansion, and noise/vibration mitigation techniques. 10. Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for project execution. 11. Ensure safety, reliability, and longevity of BLT solutions while minimizing maintenance costs. 12. Collaborate with construction teams to provide technical guidance and resolve on-site design challenges. 13. Design co-ordination with other stake holders related to design approval as well as Project execution. Preferred candidate profile 1. Extensive experience in ballastless track (BLT) design, including track slab and embedded rail systems. 2. Proficiency in designing BLT derailment walls for improved safety measures. 3. Strong understanding of RSI (Rail-Structure Interaction) analysis and its impact on BLT performance. 4. Experience in designing RCC column track structures for metro and high-speed rail applications. 5. Proficiency in railway design software: STAAD.Pro, Midas, similar design software. 6. Understanding of track-structure interaction, dynamic loading, and thermal effects on BLT systems. 7. Expertise in track fastening systems, concrete track slabs, and transition zones from ballasted to ballastless tracks. 8. Knowledge of geotechnical considerations for BLT foundation design. 9. Familiarity with construction methodologies for BLT systems, including prefabricated and in-situ track slab construction. 10. Ability to interpret railway standards and specifications to ensure compliance with global norms. 11. Design co-ordination with other stake holders related to design approval as well as Project execution.
