KGeN - Head of Engineering

Role : Head of Engineering We are looking for a 12+ years experienced engineering leader with a strong background in Machine Learning / AI Engineering, who can own the end-to-end technology vision and execution at KGen. What Youll Own Technology Vision & Architecture : Define and drive the overall tech roadmap aligned with business goals Build scalable systems across AI/ML, backend, and data infrastructure Make key decisions on build vs buy, architecture, and tech stack AI / ML Engineering Leadership : Lead development of ML models, pipelines, and AI-driven features Translate business problems into AI-first solutions Build strong foundations in : i. Model deployment (MLOps) ii. Data pipelines iii. Real-time inference systems Team Building (Critical) : Hire and build a high-quality engineering team from scratch Set the bar for : i. Code quality ii. Ownership iii. Speed of execution Mentor senior engineers and create future leaders Execution & Delivery : Bring structure to ambiguity without slowing things down Drive fast, high-quality releases Balance speed vs scalability vs product needs Cross-functional Leadership : Work closely with : i. Founders ii. Product iii. Design Act as a bridge between business and engineering What Were Looking For : 12+ years of experience in engineering Strong background in : i. Machine Learning / AI Engineering ii. Scalable backend systems Experience in building and leading high-performing teams Hands-on mindset (not just a people manager) From a good College Background Good To Have Experience in gaming, consumer tech, or high-scale startups Exposure To Recommendation systems Personalization engines Real-time systems Prior experience in 0 to 1 or early-stage startups What Success Looks Like (First 612 Months) Built a strong core engineering team Defined and executed clear tech roadmap Launched AI-led features/products Created a culture of : i.
