About the role
Role Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating database-related issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring the reliability of Azure SQL environments. You will work closely with application and infrastructure teams to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Investigate application outages and performance degradation linked to database operations. - Monitor and optimize Azure SQL Managed Instance environments. - Analyze execution plans and improve query performance. - Manage indexing, statistics, maintenance, and database jobs. - Perform proactive monitoring and capacity planning. - Identify root causes of incidents and provide detailed technical findings. - Prepare clear, business-friendly RCA reports for stakeholders. - Work with development teams to optimize critical business processes and user journeys. Qualification Required: - 5+ years of Database Administration experience - Strong expertise in Azure SQL Managed Instance - Advanced SQL query optimization and performance tuning - Experience with database migration support and troubleshooting - Strong understanding of indexing strategies and maintenance plans - Experience managing SQL Agent jobs and automated database processes - Expertise in diagnosing and resolving: - Deadlocks - Blocking issues - Long-running queries - Performance bottlenecks - Stored procedure tuning and optimization - Database monitoring and health checks Additional Details: What We're Looking For: - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Experience supporting production-critical applications - Ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences - Proven track record of improving database performance and application stability Interested candidates can share their updated resume along with: - Total experience - Azure SQL Managed Instance experience - Current location - Notice period / availability - Contract rate expectations Apply now or message us directly on LinkedIn.
