About the role
As a Genset Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of genset systems and components, including base frames, acoustic enclosures, fuel tanks, cooling systems, exhaust layouts, and engine-alternator integration structures. You will create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA while ensuring design accuracy, performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost optimization. The role involves performing engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and supporting structural, thermal, and vibration-related design validations in collaboration with CAE teams. You will also contribute to material selection, manufacturing process improvements, and VA/VE initiatives to enhance product efficiency and reduce production costs. Working closely with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, and Production teams, you will ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and support prototype development, testing, and issue resolution during product development and production stages.
