Senior Design Engineer - System Integration- Senior Officer/Senior Engineer (MG4)- Global EE Engineering Department- Research & Development Business Unit- Pune

Job Description •Demonstrated experience contributing to the mechanical packaging, component selection, thermal management, or structural integration of "Genset + BESS" hybrid solutions.

•Proficiency in CAD and PLM tools, specifically Creo, AutoCAD (2D), Windchill (PLM), and ERP system. •Hands-on experience designing robust, weather-proof, and acoustic enclosures for higher rating gensets, adapting them to house containerized BESS and hybrid components. •Strong working knowledge of radiator cooling, heat dissipation, and airflow management for low and heavy-duty engines, paired with battery systems HVAC/liquid-cooling integration. •Functional understanding of how mechanical packaging interfaces with Electrical Controls, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and Battery Management Systems (BMS) for seamless "Genset + BESS" pairing. •Proven track record of optimizing the mechanical Bill of Materials (BOM) to reduce manufacturing costs while strictly maintaining Kirloskar’s legacy of engine longevity, safety, and ruggedness. •High proficiency in using Creo and AutoCad, alongside Windchill (PLM) for managing engineering change notes (ECNs) and component release workflows. •Ability to collaborate closely with KOEL’s internal teams—including Sourcing, Electrical Engineering, and the Quality/Testing divisions—to successfully execute prototype development and field testing.

•Competence in generating high-quality site layouts, GA (General Arrangement) drawings, and precise technical compliance documentation to support the commercial teams during large-scale power tenders. •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. •Solid foundational understanding of Renewable Energy solutions and hybrid power technologies. •Experience in the mechanical design and product development of power generation systems. •Hands-on experience in the Genset (Diesel/Gas) manufacturing or design industry •Minimum of 1or 2 years of direct involvement, project exposure, or integration experience within the BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) sector.
