About the role
Job description The Data Analyst (Excel Specialist) is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data using Microsoft Excel to provide insights and support decision-making within the firm This role involves working extensively with Excel functions, formulas, and tools to manipulate, visualize, and analyze data effectively Responsibilities: 1.Data Collection and Preparation: Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Use Excel functions and features to preprocess and format data for analysis. 2.Data Analysis: Perform data analysis using advanced Excel functions (eg, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS) to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in the data. 3.Data Visualization: Create visually appealing and informative charts, graphs, and pivot tables in Excel to summarize and present analysis results effectively. 4.Dashboard Development: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Excel to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide stakeholders with actionable insights. 5.Data Mining: Utilize Excels data analysis tools (eg, Data Analysis ToolPak, Solver) to perform data mining and exploration, uncovering hidden patterns and relationships in the data. 6.Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy and integrity by conducting thorough validation and reconciliation checks within Excel spreadsheets. 7.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver timely analysis and reporting solutions using Excel. 8.Documentation: Document data analysis processes, methodologies, and assumptions in Excel workbooks to maintain transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing. 9.Continuous Learning: Stay updated on new Excel features, best practices, and tips/tricks to enhance data analysis capabilities and efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (eg, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS), pivot tables, and charting tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights using Excel. Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a data analysis role using Excel is preferred. Additional Skills (Preferred): Familiarity with other data analysis and visualization tools (eg, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
