Position: The Technical Lead (Power BI Architect & Microsoft Fabric) Location: Remote Experience: 12+ Notice Period: Immediate Role Description: The Technical Lead (Power BI Architect) is accountable for the operational stability, performance, minor enhancements and governance of analytics and visualisation platforms within the Data Operations managed service. This role serves as the escalation point for reporting and semantic layer issues, ensures consistent operational execution across Power BI and SAP BI platforms, and partners with Data Engineering and Quality Engineering to deliver reliable, trusted insights to the business. Required Experience - 11 - 16 years of experience supporting Enterprise Analytics and BI platforms. - Solid experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Fabric Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, Data Factory, OneLake, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI integration. - Experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks as upstream data platforms supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and visualization solutions. - Domains knowledge on Supply Chain, Sales, Retail - Strong operational experience with Power BI, including datasets, semantic models, gateways, and Capacity management. - Experience supporting SAP BOBJ / HANA-based BI environments. - Strong understanding of data modelling, report performance tuning, and refresh orchestration. - Experience operating platforms in SLA-driven, managed services environments. - Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills. Key Responsibilities - Provide operational leadership for Power BI and SAP BI (BOBJ/HANA) platforms - Own incident response and escalation for visualisation, semantic model, refresh, and performance issues. - Govern dataset, semantic model, and report operations, including refresh schedules, capacity usage, and access controls. - Partner with Data Engineering on upstream pipeline dependencies and issue resolution. - Define and maintain visualisation platform runbooks, support procedures, and standards. - Oversee operational backlog items, minor enhancements, and controlled report changes. - Ensure alignment with security, access, and audit requirements. - Act as a mentor and escalation point for Visualisation Engineers. - Provide operational reporting and insights to the Data Ops Leader - Owns the enhancement backlog and execution, balancing new requirements, legacy migrations and ongoing support Skills - Database Technologies: SQL Server (20002022), Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance. - Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake, Real-Time Analytics, Semantic Models, and Power BI Integration. - SAP HANA/BW, Teradata, IBM DB2, Snowflake, Azure SQL, Synapse, Data bricks. - Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (Azure Portal, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, Azure Data Factory - Database Administration: Performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, backup & recovery, - replication, Availability Groups, log shipping, database security, patching, upgrades - Monitoring & Tools: SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Query Store, Azure Monitor - Scripting / Automation: T-SQL, PowerShell, Python Position: The Technical Lead (Power BI Architect & Microsoft Fabric) Location: Remote Experience: 12+ Notice Period: Immediate Role Description: The Technical Lead (Power BI Architect) is accountable for the operational stability, performance, minor enhancements and governance of analytics and visualisation platforms within the Data Operations managed service.
