Responsibilities

  • Perform Functional Safety Analysis for Conventional and Electrified Powertrain systems and Vehicle Protection features.

  • Define Item Definition, including system functions, architecture, and interactions with interfacing systems.

  • Develop and maintain system models using Medini Analyze and Simulink.

  • Conduct HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Analysis) to identify system malfunctions.

  • Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) to determine ASIL ratings, Safety Goals, and Safe States.

  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with system failures under various operating conditions.

  • Derive Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and allocate them to appropriate system modules.

  • Develop Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) in alignment with architecture-independent design principles and the 3-level eGAS concept.

  • Allocate safety requirements to hardware and software components.

  • Perform and review system-level safety analyses:

  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

  • FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis)

  • DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)

  • Common Cause Analysis (CCA)

  • Evaluation of safety channels and safety mechanisms

  • Conduct fault injection testing to determine Fault Tolerant Time Interval (FTTI).

  • Perform impact analysis for carry-over systems with updated or refined features.

  • Plan and execute system-level and vehicle-level integration and validation testing.

  • Verify and validate test cases and test results across component, system, and vehicle levels.

  • Perform simulation-based validation of safety concepts and fault scenarios.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and interfacing system owners to ensure alignment on safety requirements.

  • Ensure proper communication protocols and integration across system architectures.

  • Maintain end-to-end traceability of safety requirements across all V-model work products.

  • Develop and manage Safety Case documentation, ensuring evidence of compliance and completeness.

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 26262 functional safety standards throughout the lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, or related engineering field.
