Software Tester Associate Consultant

As a Software Tester-Associate Consultant-MFT at KGS CH, your role involves designing, developing, and executing test solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. You will work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to define test strategies, identify and track defects through closure, and continuously improve testing processes across the SDLC. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and automation approaches aligned with project goals and release timelines. - Define test scope, coverage, entry/exit criteria. - Design, develop, and execute test scripts to validate application functionality and ensure high-quality software releases. - Perform web-based application testing, API testing, and batch processing validation for solutions. - Ensure adequate regression, functional, and integration test coverage. - Analyze test results, identify defects, and perform root cause analysis where applicable. - Log, track, prioritize, and manage defects to closure, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. - Validate fixes through re-testing and regression testing. - Enhance, maintain, and optimize automation frameworks, scripts, and testing tools. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support automated test execution as part of build and release processes. - Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives. - Align testing activities with agile development timelines and delivery commitments. - Prepare and publish test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality dashboards for stakeholders. - Provide clear, actionable insights on test status, risks, and overall quality trends. - Document test cases, results, and testing artifacts in accordance with project standards. - Continuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies, automation effectiveness, and QA processes. - Promote best practices in test automation, quality engineering, and defect prevention. Qualifications Required: - Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, QA best practices, and SDLC. - Hands-on experience in web-based application testing, API testing, and batch processing validation. - Experience with test strategy creation, execution planning, and defect lifecycle management. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation abilities. - Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment. They prefer candidates with familiarity in defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms. Experience with DevOps or ALM tools for test execution, reporting, and release coordination is advantageous. Knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as Python or Java and experience with automation and testing tools such as TestNG, Playwright, or equivalent frameworks are desirable for this mid-level position.
