About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer for a contractual role. The ideal candidate will have in-depth platform expertise on Azure and hands-on experience with Terraform, authentication mechanisms, HashiCorp Vault, Linux, and security practices. Key Responsibilities: Azure Cloud Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure using Terraform and PowerShell. Pipeline Creation: Collaborate with developers to create CI/CD pipelines and write Kubernetes deployment manifests. Migration and Upgrade Activities: Perform migration and upgrade tasks for databases, operating systems, and Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). Automation: Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, managed via Jenkins. VM Provisioning: Provision and manage virtual machines (VMs) on Azure Cloud. Networking on Cloud: Set up and manage networking components such as load balancing and routing on Azure. Database Setup: Configure databases (both managed and VM-hosted) and ensure seamless integration with cloud-hosted microservices. Kubernetes Administration: Administer Kubernetes clusters, including: Application deployment, Namespace management, Load balancing, Policy setup, Deployment strategies (e.g., blue-green and canary deployments) Kafka Configuration: Set up and configure Kafka for robust data streaming and messaging. Required Skills: • PowerShell Scripting: Advanced scripting skills (Python is optional but a plus) • GitHub: Familiarity with version control systems and collaboration workflows. • Kafka Setup: Proficiency in configuring and managing Kafka. • Kubernetes Expertise: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster administration, storage, KeyVault, and VMs. • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform for automating infrastructure management. • Linux Administration: Proficiency in Linux systems and security practices
