Role Overview: In this IT role at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage, develop, and support the technology infrastructure that powers the company's global systems and operations. Your work is essential in enabling teams to deliver various products, including fresh fruit and time-sensitive healthcare items, to people worldwide. Working as a data engineer within the Contract Logistics Global Reporting team, you will play a crucial role in implementing and evolving modern data architecture and pipelines that provide accurate shipment data across the organization. Your contribution will ensure the efficient flow of data for data-driven decision-making in a logistics enterprise. Key Responsibilities: - Implement and model analytical output ports for data products, ensuring discoverability and usability across different domains - Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Dagster as the primary orchestration framework, modernizing existing ETL workflows progressively - Build and manage data transformation layers using dbt, ensuring well-tested, documented, and version-controlled models - Architect and optimize Snowflake data warehouse structures, including schemas, tables, views, and materialization strategies - Provision and manage AWS infrastructure components supporting the data platform (S3, Lambda, IAM, EC2, etc.) - Integrate data from various source systems such as logistics and supply chain platforms, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases - Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the data platform landscape - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate models - Maintain CI/CD workflows for data pipeline code and infrastructure-as-code deployments - Support and troubleshoot production data issues, performing root cause analysis and remediation Qualifications Required: - 25 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role - Strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Python, dbt, and AWS - Hands-on experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows - Proficiency in data modeling and data warehouse design - Experience in developing and supporting data products for analytics and reporting - Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, data quality, and monitoring frameworks - Preferred experience in logistics, supply chain, or Blue Yonder WMS - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a Global Leader in the logistics industry, access career development opportunities, receive competitive compensation, be part of a collaborative work culture, and have a global impact on regional business growth.
