Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer

We're looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer who can take ownership of test strategy and automation architecture for our B2B regulatory compliance SaaS platform, while mentoring a growing QA team. Role Overview As a QA Automation Engineer, you will own the end-to-end quality strategy for our cloud-based SaaS platform designing and architecting automation frameworks, validating complex regulatory rule engines, and ensuring our compliance workflows are accurate, scalable, and audit-ready across multiple jurisdictions. You'll work closely with product, engineering and regulatory affairs teams. Key Responsibilities Define and own the overall test strategy and automation roadmap for the platform. Architect, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium for functional, regression, API, and end-to-end testing. Lead validation of complex regulatory rule engines nutrition calculations, allergen declarations, ingredient and additive labelling rules across jurisdictions (e.g., FSSAI, CFIA, FDA, EU FIC). Design test strategies suited to multi-tenant SaaS architecture, including data isolation, role-based access, and configuration-driven workflows. Integrate and optimize automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines, championing shift-left testing practices. Mentor and guide junior/mid-level QA engineers; conduct code reviews of automation scripts and enforce best practices. Partner with product and regulatory teams to translate evolving compliance requirements into robust test cases and acceptance criteria. Establish data accuracy and audit-trail validation processes for compliance-critical features. Drive performance, load, and security testing initiatives across the platform. Own the defect management lifecycle triage, prioritization, and root-cause analysis with cross-functional stakeholders. Evaluate and introduce new tools and AI-assisted testing practices to improve team efficiency. Skills & Qualifications 7+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 5-6 years in automation testing for SaaS products (B2B SaaS strongly preferred). Expert-level proficiency in Selenium, including experience designing automation frameworks from the ground up. Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python. Advanced API testing experience (Postman, RestAssured) including testing complex business/rule engines and data validation logic. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar). Working knowledge of cloud-based, multi-tenant SaaS architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP). SQL/database testing skills for validating data integrity across large regulatory datasets. Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, or similar) and foundational security testing knowledge (OWASP basics). Familiarity with using AI for test case generation, maintenance, and optimization. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills. Bonus: prior exposure to regulated domains (food, pharma, healthcare, or financial compliance SaaS).
