As a Product Engineer at Lam, you will utilize principles of materials science, surface engineering, and physical modelling to analyze and interpret complex semiconductor process behavior. Your responsibilities will involve: - Evaluating engineering data and developing analytical frameworks for understanding process interactions - Contributing to the development of improved process strategies and operating approaches - Developing and applying analytical or physics-based models to interpret process behavior and identify key sensitivities - Analyzing experimental datasets to identify drivers of variability, performance limits, and process robustness - Supporting hypothesis generation and validation through structured interpretation of experimental results - Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to connect modeling insights with development activities - Documenting theory of operation and strengthening platform-level engineering understanding - Contributing to technical discussions and structured engineering reviews - Supporting focused engineering investigations or small technical projects - Presenting technical analysis, insights, and engineering recommendations to internal teams Qualifications required for this role include: - Master's degree (MS / MTech) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline with relevance to the semiconductor equipment industry - Experience with computational or analytical tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar numerical analysis platforms - Coursework or research involving plasma processing or semiconductor manufacturing - Experience developing physics-based models or numerical simulations - Background in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD), or Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) - Background in Plasma Physics, Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), Atomic Layer Etching (ALE), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Capacitively Coupled Plasma (CCP) - Familiarity with working in a laboratory/clean room and on semiconductor equipment with experience in surface preparation and analytical techniques - In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) - Experience working with experimental datasets from laboratory or research environments - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate physical intuition into quantitative analysis - Strong written and verbal communication skills As a Product Engineer at Lam, you will utilize principles of materials science, surface engineering, and physical modelling to analyze and interpret complex semiconductor process behavior.
