About the role
As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, your role involves designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. You will contribute directly to products from the Direct Metal Business Unit and support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization. This includes conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation. Key Responsibilities: - Design components using a variety of materials such as metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings. - Conduct detailed analysis including structural, FEA, thermal, stress, vibrations, fluid dynamics, and manufacturability. - Develop and conduct feasibility studies and test plans to validate design performance. - Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations for design reviews. - Collaborate with internal teams for procurement and assembly of components and equipment. - Address complex engineering challenges with creativity and effectiveness. - Apply basic GD&T and perform Tolerance Stack up analysis. - Prepare cost estimates on parts & assemblies using DFx methodologies. - Utilize structured problem solving tools for root cause analysis and solution paths. - Have good knowledge of basic fabrication techniques and FMEA. - Experience in project management and working with suppliers and manufacturing floor. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience. - Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX & Product Life cycle management tools. - Hands-on experimental and design background with solid engineering fundamentals. - Aptitude to solve mechanical engineering problems using analytical calculations, prototypes, testing, and computational modeling tools. - In-depth usage of FMEA, inspecting components, and performing component failure analysis. - Experience in the Semiconductor industry is a plus. - Experience with project management and exposure to working with suppliers, manufacturing floor, and assembly line troubleshooting.
