About the role
Role Summary The Telecom Offshore Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, engineering, and documentation of telecommunication systems for offshore platforms, substations, and wind farm facilities. The role involves developing telecom system designs in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare telecom system design deliverables for offshore projects. Develop layouts, specifications, calculations, and engineering documents for: Telephone Systems Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA) Systems CCTV & Video Surveillance Systems Access Control Systems Radio Communication Systems (VHF/UHF/TETRA) Marine Communication Systems Structured Cabling Systems Fiber Optic Networks LAN/WAN Networks Meteorological Monitoring Systems Prepare equipment layouts, cable routing, and installation drawings. Perform telecom load calculations and system sizing. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Electrical, Instrumentation, Process, Mechanical, and Civil departments. Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project requirements. Support procurement activities by preparing technical requisitions and evaluating vendor quotations. Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, and project meetings. Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and project execution phases. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related discipline. 5-15 years of experience in Telecom Engineering for Offshore Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind, Marine, or EPC projects. Experience in offshore platform/substation telecom system design. Familiarity with E3D, AutoCAD, SmartPlant, or similar engineering tools is preferred. Technical Skills Telecom system engineering and design. Fiber optic network design. Radio communication systems. CCTV, PAGA, and Access Control systems. Telecom material take-off (MTO). Vendor document review and technical bid evaluation. Offshore telecom installation practices.
