About the role
System Engineering Derive and analyze system requirements from SOW, QR, and customer specifications Define overall system architecture, subsystem allocation, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) Ensure requirement traceability, compliance, and design validation throughout the development lifecycle Component Selection & Subsystem Design Lead selection of sensors, optics, processors, interfaces, and electromechanical components Develop optimized subsystem configurations considering performance, reliability, ruggedization, and manufacturability Hardware Design Support hardware architecture definition for embedded and ruggedized defense systems Coordinate PCB, enclosure, thermal, connector, and interface design activities Control Systems Design Develop and validate control logic for motion systems, stabilization, tracking, and actuator interfaces Support control loop tuning and system-level performance optimization Power Systems Design Define power architecture, power budgeting, distribution, protection, and conditioning schemes Ensure compatibility with military vehicle/platform power requirements Integration & Testing Lead system integration, debugging, functional validation, and qualification testing Support environmental, vibration, thermal, ESS, and field trials for defense platforms Understanding of MIL Standards (Environmental & EMI/EMC) Ensure product compliance with MIL-STD/JSS requirements related to EMI/EMC, environmental, and reliability standards Coordinate qualification planning and compliance documentation Vendor / Partner Management Collaborate with technology partners, suppliers, and test agencies for subsystem development and qualification Drive technical discussions, reviews, and execution tracking with external stakeholders Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with mechanical, electronics, optics, firmware, production, quality, and program teams Drive alignment between design, manufacturing, testing, and customer expectations
