Position Summary The Systems Engineer will support the design, integration, and delivery of offshore wind substation (OSS) projects, working across electrical, structural, mechanical, and automation domains. The role ensures that system-level requirements are captured, interfaces are properly managed, and the substation operates reliably and safely throughout its lifecycle. Key Responsibilities System Design & RequirementsDevelop and maintain system-level requirements and specifications for OSS topsides and support structures.Assist in system architecture, interface definitions, and design integration across HV equipment, auxiliary systems, and SCADA/telecom.Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and load flow/power system studies.Integration & InterfacesSupport coordination between HV equipment suppliers, structural/marine engineers, and automation teams.Track and resolve technical issues, ensuring alignment across packages (WTG, array cables, export cables, onshore connection).Maintain the interface register and ensure traceability of requirements.Testing & ValidationContribute to factory acceptance tests (FAT), system integration tests (SIT), and offshore commissioning.Support verification of system performance, reliability, and compliance with standards.Compliance & DocumentationEnsure designs meet DNV, IEC, ISO, and grid operator requirements.Prepare technical documentation including specifications, reports, and risk assessments.Participate in design reviews with certifying bodies and clients.Project SupportWork closely with project engineers, package leads, and system managers to meet project milestones.Support bid/proposal inputs with technical data and feasibility checks. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, Offshore/Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.Experience:37 years in power systems, offshore wind, oil & gas, or HV substation projects.Knowledge of HV equipment (GIS, transformers, switchgear, cables), protection & control, and auxiliary systems.Familiarity with offshore engineering standards (DNV-ST-0145, IEC 61892, ISO 19900 series).Technical Skills:Proficiency in modeling tools (ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink).Understanding of SCADA, automation, and telecom systems in offshore environments.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.Effective communication and collaboration in multi-disciplinary, international teams.Ability to work in fast-paced EPC/EPCI project environments. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Timely delivery of assigned engineering deliverables.Accuracy and completeness of system requirements and documentation.Effective resolution of interface and integration issues.Compliance with technical standards and project quality requirements.Positive feedback from project leads, certifying bodies, and clients.
